FAQs

    371. How much is a Tanzania visa for US citizens?

US citizens are required to pay two types of Tanzania visa fees: the Government fee and the visa service fee. The Government fee is the amount applicants must pay to the Tanzania Immigration Department to provide their visa. This is the obligation fee for applicants who wish to apply for a Tanzania e-Visa. This is a mandatory requirement for travelers who wish to obtain a Tanzania eVisa. Regarding the visa service fee, it is variable based on the type of visa service US citizens use. Depending on the processing time US individuals select for their visa application, a service fee is assessed. Customers of TanzaniaImmigration Services have three options for this service: Normal: When US visitors have ample time to prepare their documents, in the majority of casual circumstances. Their e-Visa will be delivered to them in a maximum of 03 business days, as guaranteed. This service has the lowest price, with 69$ per applicant. Urgent: For urgent instances where US citizens require their visas sooner. With this option, applicants can expect to have their eVisa processed within 48 hours. As a result, they will be charged an extra fee for this service. Extremely urgent: Used in situations where individuals holding US passports are about to board a flight but do not yet have a Visa for entry. They can receive their Visa with this unique service in a guaranteed maximum of 24 business hours. The most expensive service is this one.

    372. Do US citizens require a visa for Tanzania?

Yes. Because the US is not included on the list of countries free from Tanzania visa requirements, US nationals are required to obtain a visa before traveling to Tanzania. The Tanzania eVisa is an electronic travel document that allows citizens from eligible countries to travel to and enjoy Tanzania (including Zanzibar). Currently, there are more than 150 countries that can take advantage of the Tanzania electronic visa system, including the US. This type of e-Visa is valid for travel and leisure activities like vacations in Tanzania or Zanzibar or casual visits to family and friends. Travelers who wish to transit through Tanzania en route to other countries can also apply for a Transit visa. Fortunately, US passport holders can now apply for a Tanzania visa online which helps them save time and money compared to going to an Embassy or the Consulate. There are 04 different types of Tanzania eVisa available to US citizens: tourist eVisa - single entry or multiple entries, transit eVisa, and business eVisa. Each type serves a different purpose with a specific staying time allowed; thus, US nationals should choose the one that best suits their travel plans. With an eVisa, they can remain in Tanzania for up to 03 months.

    376. What is the difference between an e-Visa and a traditional visa?

Tanzania traditional visa A Tanzania traditional visa is the traditional way of obtaining permission to enter the country. The process usually involves submitting a paper application form and supporting documents to the Tanzania embassy or consulate in your country. This can be a difficult and time-consuming task, often requiring multiple trips to the embassy and long processing times. An important difference between a regular Tanzania visa and an e-visa is the application process itself. For a regular visa, the applicant must fill out a paper form, provide paper copies of supporting documents, and submit the application by mail or in person. This can be a difficult process, especially for those who live far from the nearest Tanzania embassy or consulate. Regular visas also take longer to process than e-visas. Obtaining a regular visa for Tanzania can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on various factors such as the number of applications received and the complexity of the case. Tanzania e visa Unlike the conventional visa process, Tanzania e-visa offers travellers a simpler and more efficient way to obtain a visa for India. As the name suggests, an e-visa is an electronic form of a regular visa that allows travellers to apply online without having to provide paper documents. The process of applying for an e-visa is very simple. The applicant has to visit the official website of the Government of India or the website of a trusted travel agent (e.g. VisitsVisa) and fill out an online application form. The required information includes personal details, travel plans and supporting documents in digital format. One of the main advantages of e-visas is the speed of processing. In most cases, e-visas are processed within a few business days, significantly reducing the time and effort required to obtain a visa. This quick turnaround time makes e-visas a popular choice for last-minute travellers or those with urgent travel plans. Another notable feature of e-visas is their flexibility. Unlike regular visas that are usually issued for specific purposes such as tourism, business or medical treatment, e-visas cover a wide range of travel purposes. Whether you are coming to India for tourism, business meetings, conferences or medical treatment, you can apply for an e-visa that suits your specific needs. The primary distinction between a Tanzania visa and Tanzania eVisa is the application procedure and speed of processing. eVisas provide increased convenience, flexibility, and efficiency, making them an excellent alternative for anyone wishing to visit Tanzania. Whether you apply for a conventional visa or an e-visa, you must fulfill all eligibility requirements and give accurate information to prevent issues during your stay.
