    366. What is the e-Visa?

    Tanzania eVisa is an online visa that was introduced in 2018 and allows citizens of qualifying countries to travel to and within Tanzania (including Zanzibar). The Tanzania electronic visa is valid for tourist and leisure purposes, such as a trip to mainland Tanzania or Zanzibar, or to see relatives or friends. The eVisa allows tourists to spend up to 30 consecutive days in Tanzania. Most nations are granted a one-entry visa. US passport holders are eligible for a multiple-entry eVisa for Tanzania, allowing them to remain for up to 90 days. Tanzanian eVisa applicants are contacted via email after their visa has been accepted. Most customers obtain their approved eVisa for Tanzania in 4 to 6 days. You will receive your visa in PDF format. You should print it and bring it with you when you visit Tanzania. If your visa application is declined, you will be notified by email. All visitors to Tanzania must have a valid visa. Tanzania has recently allowed citizens of 163 countries to get an e-Visa which they can apply for online.
