Is a passport required for Zanzibar or Tanzania?
If you want to travel to Tanzania or Zanzibar, a passport is of course one of the essential documents that you must have. Remember that these countries are not yet members of the European Union and you cannot travel to these countries with just a simple ID document.
For British nationals, it is necessary to have a valid passport that is valid for at least 6 months after arrival in Tanzania.
Another requirement for passports in Tanzania and Zanzibar is that the passport must have a sufficient number of blank pages, usually 3 pages, 2 of which are opposite.
