Dar-es-Salaam to Arusha is approximately 620 kilometers and takes 11-12 hours by car. There are bus services available between these cities, with tickets costing roughly $45 each. Buses normally depart at 6:00 a.m. Given the length of these bus journeys, flying is the preferred mode of transportation from Dar es Salaam to Arusha. Generally speaking, Tanzania's safaris and reserves have no crime problems.
